casual-ty

a casual article, by Freezy

I need to ask myself that question more often. I have always struggled with complacency, and I did have a docile faith for the first 10 years of my eternal life. I have been growing in spurts for the last 3, but I will always struggle with too much docility in my attitude. God will just have to keep giving me more chances, and more reminders and courage.

girls and chicks

quick question: Who is Maria on my Johari?? Sorry I can't remember names well when I don't talk to people regularly.

a post from Skeen with a comment from me

The part of his post that I commented on is copied here along with my comment, for simplicity's sake.

I'm just a fella who is tired of being where he is, but knows he has to stay there. “It’s hard to wait around for something that you know might never happen, but it’s even harder to give up when you know that it’s everything you want.” Ok, you really wanna know what all this retarded-ness is stemming from? Fine...this is the most retarded illustration and I apologize upfront, but I am tired and can’t think of anything better at the moment. Pretend you’re a chicken farmer and you’ve got this egg with a baby chick in it, right? Ok so, you know it will be a beautiful chicken some day, but right now it just wants to be an egg. You say, “Ya, daz coo” and step back to watch it grow. You take a few too many steps back when (for some unknown reason) it decides to crack when you’re not looking. Another farmer just happens to be there and the chick is like, “Are you my mother?” Of course the other farmer scoops up the little chick and begins to take care of it. The chick is all happy and stuff, but you’re sittin' back there like “………Dang it” You can’t just cut in and try to take the chick away for 2 reasons: the farmer would hate you because he is enjoying doing his job and the chick would hate you for taking it away from being loved and cared for (which is all chicks want anyway). So you sit back down and watch this farmer walk off with your chick. You then get mad at yourself because you think you’ve lost something, but then get even madder at yourself for feeling that way. The egg told you it wanted to be an egg. It’s your fault for waiting. (Told you it was a weird analogy)

yeah, it's really all about trust, which is really hard when a "perfect" person is standing right in front of you, but the time isn't right (or at least I assume it's not the right time, since I haven't gotten a word from God, but then again, how can I be sure that there WILL be a special word from Him, maybe I'm just supposed to use my best judgment that He's granted to me to use)

yeah, I just met someone a couple of weeks ago, and I think it's just another one of the 4 or 5 obsessions I've had throughout my life, but as always, I believe that's it's not just an obsession, not just my imagination, but I believe that there really are coincidences that maybe God placed so that I could see certain [awesome] parts of their character. Well, I'm guessing that it's a waiting [and trusting] game, and I'm hoping that my guess is right for now, and I'm trusting that God's plan is best, and that God will reveal His plan to me in His good timing.

I've found that I really struggle with the marriage fantasy, i.e. I want to have a partner even more than I want to follow God's overarching will for my life, but He's really been teaching me lately to fully rely on Him to be my one and only friend that I need. It's a hard lesson to learn, being the relationship- and people-focused person that I am.

please??

please at least pick a few words in my Johari window, you don't have to pick 5 or 6 ... also, please check out the Nohari one as well; don't worry, I like brutal honesty :)

If you don't know me well enough, that's OK, but it doesn't take that much time to pick a few words, the list really isn't as long (or as hard to pick from) as it looks. (And I'll bet that everyone of you who reads this does know me well enough to make a good guess at my top 5 personality traits.) It's just a little research on my public image, I always like to know how I truthfully come across.

THANKS!!
